I think the plain old Sherpas are really the best for airline travel- I have had all the cutesy carriers out there and the only thing I would ever consider taking on a plane again besides a sherpa would be a sturdibag. You can sometimes find the airline specific sherpas at homegoods for a really good price- you don't need the one for the airline you are flying.
