Here's my story. I'm 27, 5'2" and 172 lbs (!). I'm getting married in October. I need to not look like I do now - then. I don't eat meat- so I wind up eating lots of pasta. I do eat seafood. I called the gym yesterday, but it is WAY out of my pricerange. I just can't afford it. Yesterday I started taking the stairs at work (7 flights) and it's been torture. I've tried weight watchers, and lost about 8 pounds last year, but I put it bcak on and then some. I love to cook. Please help! I don't know where to begin & I only have 10 months until my wedding!! I'd like to lose at least 30 lbs - impossible? |
I think 30 pounds by October is a lot, but if you are really determined and combine exercise with eating right, you may be able to do it! Really it's around 3-4 pounds per month which is pretty doable, but you really need to be committed to it. I would think a wedding in 9 months would be a GREAT incentive.
Pat has given you loads of great info. My favorite for you would be the "how to begin" post. I see you love to cook, and that's awesome! You may need to make healthy substitutions for the higher fat/calorie ingredients you may be using. Pat has lots of info about that posted in this thread too.
I wish you the best, Jessica! I want to see pictures of the wedding in October! Welcome to the club!
