Dori's trainer taught us to play a game of hide and go seek for name reinforcement. Hide where you can easily be found and call for your pooch. Most can't resist running to find you. Reinforce with treat. And, of course, always using your "happy" voice.
The trainer also advised to not call your dog for punishment or something unpleasant (bathtime, medicine?). In these cases, go to them.
