Maybe rather than just running out and finding a puppy for her, he could present her with the idea that he wants to get her a puppy and involve her in the decision. It would be just as fun and still a great surprise. This way, if she really isn't ready, she's going to come right out and tell him.
One of my current puppy buyers is actually a BF / GF couple and the puppy is to be a present for the woman. She made a comment when they were over that she was so happy that he let her take part in the decision and that he didn't just go out find one on his own.
I'm not saying a puppy surprise is a bad idea but things can go both ways easily in a situation like that. | Good idea! |
