Simple sugars turn immediately, complex carbohydrates take a medium amount of time and proteins take the longest. If too much sugar is in the blood at one time, an overabundance of insulin is made, and insulin makes you hold onto every fat cell you have. That's good to know. I crave sweets and bread. I am trying to eat better. I don't eat a lot, just the wrong things. Never had a weight problem but since menopause even though I work out I have put on a little weight. I am going to try and eat less sugar! Thanks
