Typical Sunday afternoon in south Louisiana. It was about 95 degrees, but with the humidity it felt like 1000. I was on my way to Walmart to pick up some packing tape when I noticed an all too familiar scene - dogs for sale on the side of the road. I didn't approach the woman or the dogs. Why bother? Am I going to tell them that selling dogs on the side of the road is wrong? It wouldn't matter. This clearly is her livelihood. So, I called the police in reference to animal cruelty. They arrived within 10 minutes. I left and went to Walmart. By the time I was done shopping the woman was gone and there was not 1 person on the side of the road selling dogs. Maybe I can make a small difference next weekend too.
