Bell has only had one litter and I used two clamps and surgical scissors, I have heard of the dental floss but didn't feel comfortable , because I have never seen it done that way. As far as slinging, I had to do that with Bell's first born, she was not breathing and between the soft sling and the warm towel rubs, she was breathing and crying in 20 seconds!!
Don't you find that if you stitch the cord, momma will end up ripping it out?? I don't do my own tails and the vet stitched them, and with in an hour Bell had all three out!!
