Yes, I've left Rowdy for 2 weeks - BUT it was on a trip that was booked and paid for LONG before we even thought about getting him. Its was a cruise so there was no way he could go. Since then we have not left him and it would be very hard to do. We are going to northern CA and OR in May and he is definitely going with us.
