Has anyone ever had their eardrums lanced to help the fluid drain? If so, I was wondering what to expect if the ENT wants to do this.

Well, I'm going on my 4th week with my middle ears totally clogged with fluid! I don't know how much longer I can do this! I will be going to the ENT tomorrow to see what can be done. I just know it will be like starting over again because he has never seen me. I've been doing everything my GP told me to do almost a month ago. Last week, I had to drive 1-1/2 hours to get to an ENT. We only have one group of them here and they couldn't get me in for 2 weeks (which is tomorrow). This all began with a bad sinus infection that turned into middle ear infection. I feel great....it's just my ears are clogged and I'm going insane.
