A cotton coat is usually fuller and generally feels warm to the touch and very soft. A silky coat has a cooler, smoother feel to the back of your hand.
One way to tell is look at it in the light. Silky coats reflect the light, cottony coats although clean and may shine do not reflect. Silky coats almost look metallic.
The eye sheen is a good general rule but I have seen the camera flash different colors on both. A flashlight in a dark room would be more accurate I think. |
