 Nails!
So I'm not exactly sure but I think my puppies nails are too long. He is my first dog so I'm not really sure where they should be at. Can anyone post a picture of their yorkies nails? I know we need to get on top of it now and cut them every few days to get them to the right length but how fast does the quick retract so that we can trim them again?
He does not cooperate whatsoever when it comes to being held down or sitting still especially if we have some kind of tool in our hands. So we sat down with treats and rawhide in hand and I was only able to clip three nails. The first one went fine, the second bled ALOT but I had only trimmed a very small amount, the third one I was scared so I went even smaller and it still bled. So at that point I decided we need to take him to a professional, because when he's scared he's a little more willing to cooperate with strangers for some reason. I'm just scared they are going to clip every single nail to where it bleeding and I don't want him in pain. Will the nails clipped to short be sensitive or painful for a few days after? |
