Yorkie adult coat can take more than two years to mature. My Yorkies coat continued to change up until she was three years old, the color stayed dark but took on a dark blue hue, and the texture changed quite a bit.
The flash is not a reliable indicator of what type of coat they have, I think what colors their eyes reflect in Natural light (look into their eyes with a natural light source behind them) will tell you more about the depth of color in their coat, more than the type (silky, cotton, modified), jmo.
