My goal for my breeding program is to produce the best quality pups that I could. Both Dam and Sire have a good pedigree, there are 13 champions through out thier pedigree, most are in the 4th and 5 th generation though. I know that the further away your pup is from the champs means the less likely you will produce show quality, but we had one female in the ls tlitter that would have been a great prospect for show, the new owners choose not to go that route though. I used the same stud for this litter, and was hoping for a larger litter.
I would love to purchase a female and a male that are from exquisite blood lines, but those are hard to get and right now I dont have adequate time to put into them. So I will wait until the time is right for that move.
I was going to keep the female because she seemed to be on the bigger size and would be perfect for breeding but I am in nursing school and my husband said it would be better to wait to expand.
My dam has had the best of pre-natal care and post-natal. The pups see the vet reguraly to make sure they are doing well. They all come with current shots, thier pedigrees, a 1 year congenital health guarantee, a starter kit and they come with a vet certificate. I pretty much grill the new owners and definitly want to help them as much as possible.
I just moved to the area a few months ago so I am still trying to get my barings. I dont want to over charge because I am not in it for the money. I want to find homes that are perfect for my babies, and be able to recoup my expenses as well. I plan putting the extra into my program so one day I will have a top knotch breeding program.
Thanks so much for all of the advise, for some reason I think I may be dragging my feet in selling these guy's which is why I am having difficulty pricing them.
