I hope this little one gets into rescue and finds a wonderful home if they can't find where he came from. Hopefully they will search for his former owner - it's possible someone out there is heartbroken over his being missing and is searching for him.

Just FYI, a live trap isn't the same as a leg hold trap that I think you might be imaging. A live trap is designed to not injure the animal it is trapping. They are used by animal control to help catch problem critters, feral cats, and lost pets that can't be caught by hand. It's a wire cage that closes the escape door when the animal enters the cage and holds them securely until they can be taken out. Here is a website that shows a picture of a live trap.
