It is just like for Yorkies, you have to buy your breeder. Purebreds (like Yorkies) can come from backyard breeders with health problems and issues just like any mix. It doesn't matter WHAT dog you buy, it matters what breeder you get them from. Buy from a bad breeder and you run the risk of getting a sick puppy. Period.
Before you go running around comparing backyard breeder pups to the Biewer. Do your research.
They aren't "Biewer Yorkies" by the way, they are Biewer *Terriers.* Related to, but separate from, the Yorkie.

Well it depends on who from which club answers because some say biewer yorkie and some say biewer terrier and thats whole other controversie in itself
