Sorry, I'm going to have to disagree with you here. There are tons of breeds in the world that are purebred and are recognized by their country's kennel club. AKC or BKC may not recognize them but they are still purebred. AKC is constantly adding breeds to the list they will recognize (Foundation Breeds program) because they know these breeds who are recognized as purebreds by their country can also be AKC registered after following their program.

Biewers are not recognized by the AKC but they are purebred according to their German registry and there are some wonderful breeders here in the US doing great things with their purebred dogs.
