I always correct my name. I get called Melissa a lot, so I just call them another name and when they correct me, I say oh, well my names Michele, we were both calling each other wrong!
Hubby has stopped trying to explain that there is no such thing as a hot water heater. It's a water heater. It heats cold water to make it hot. Why would you want something to heat hot water???
I laugh at him when customers call because I can always tell when it's a "I need my hot water heater changed" call.
I would just repeat back to them and say it correctly.,. You want the xxxx crank, correct?? Maybe they'll pick up on it. Maybe not.

Actually, what would you do when people call you by the wrong name? That happens a lot too, and I'm too shy to correct them, then when they find out they got my name wrong, they are even more embarrassed. They call me Patricia instead of Priscilla. I even got a Michelle and Stephanie before.  |
