All I can say here is,try not to look at too many yorkie books because in my experience you will only get frustrated
Im saying this because I have 2 yorkies and even though Iv NEVER cute their hair (at 2 and almost 2 years old) it has never and will never reach the floor either
I bought and was given lots of books and magazines on yorkies and when ever I flicked through the pages I would get upset because all the yorkies in the books had super long shiney straight black and tan coats,whilst my yorkies seemed to have short,thin hair (only 3 inches long).I used to get so upset by this and at one point I even went to see the breeder about this thinking that she had tricked me,she even paid for the dna tests to prove me wrong and clear her name.
But after 2 years with my girls and 2 years of visiting yorkie forums,Iv realised that the coats my girls have are more common that I thought..infact,the long perfect coats you see in books are quite rare and hard to come by,even if you are a proffesional breeder
