Well that is 1/2 true. It's only for 120 consecutive days. This has to be done before entry to hawaii OR this will be done as soon as you arrive in hawaii. You can do it before by going to your vet and sending the oefv blah blah blood test (i cant remember what it is). Once the people in hawaii receive the blood and test it for rabies, they will let your vet know whether it's positive or negative and that's when your quarantine starts. your pet also has to have a microchip as that's how they tract the test. once the 120 pass you can go to hawaii and do the direct airport release but even that costs money. it's all quite expensive... you can look up the "5 day or less" program and it has all the info.
