Two Yr. Old Ex-Broodie? Hello! I very recently adopted a two year old ex broodie. The woman didn't want her any longer due to the fact that she only produced one-two puppies at a time. So, being that I have been wanting a second yorkie, that was not a puppy, I got her. She has no social kills whatsoever, however, she is doing pretty good in my book considering her circumstances. My other yorkie definitely helps her. She does allow me to hold her, does eventually settle in my lap, and follows me everywhere. So far i have provided her with a very calm, loving atmosphere. Yet still, can anyone give me tips on how to gently encourage her to come out of her shell. I should be a pro at this as I used to rehome racing greyhounds. Still, I would like to hear from those with more yorkie experience than me.
My concern is that she has an underdeveloped nervous system being that she has never really been a pet. Can this be mended. I do need to add that although she did come from a breeding kennel, she was clean and healthy. Thanks for any input! |
