I know what kind of pain she is in I had the same procedure done it is quite painful. It takes about 2 months to separate the bones and then about another 6 to 8 months for the bone to grow back together. I was nine months in the ilizrov halo. Not a fun procedure but it is well worth it in the end results. No metal in the leg. My prayers are with her for a speedy recovery.
