There are so many reasons not to continue the placement process for a puppy. I have made one exception recently to my usual placement process and I know it was the right thing to do. I also go by gut reaction and beleive me, I have sent some people away muttering. I am not mean but I am adamant..if I don't like you, my guts don't like you, you will not walk out mydoor with one of my babies.
Mt first intervoews are on the phone and by the end of 2 conversations I have decide whether an in-person visit is in order. My hubby among other things is an accredited family therapist and he forms opinions differently. On one occasion, he convinced me after 3 phone calls with an interested party, that to be fair I should have them come for an in-person visit. They came, parked in my driveway on the wrong side from my specific instructions and got out of their Caddy SUV. I looked out the window and came back in and said to my husband" I don't care what you say, they are not gonna get one of my babies!" He wanted to do te interview and I allowed him to help. Bottom line, they were sent home without a Rini cutie. I did give them a name of a friend who had one puppy left and she sold to them. She called me back a few weeks later, and said they were driving her CRAZY because of what they expected the puppy to be doing. Yuk-Yuk...
