I thought it was allergy too since my other yorkie is doing the same thing but not as much as my little guy.
I wonder if it's my perfume, candles or hair spray but I have always used these products. I am so worried.
I gave him baby benadryl tablets this morning and will give him another one tonight. Could it be kennel cough? They are all up to date on shots?
Any thoughts? I was thinking if it does not get better by Monday, I will take him to the vet. Better safe than sorry. |
If he is coughing that much, I would get him to a vet. He may need a cough suppressant or antibiotic. My little Gidget had a cough that lasted about 2 months. She was on antibiotics, cough suppressants and allergy meds. The vet thought it was a combination of allergies and bacterial infection. Also, check his gums when having coughing episodes to make sure he is getting oxygen. Gums and tongue should be pink, not pale and especially not blue or purple. That would be an emergency as he is not getting oxygen.
