I agree with Crystal, there are side effects with any medication. Pets should be evaluated before anything is prescribed.
Before anyone swears off Rimadyl and turns to an alternative, consider the statistics that are well documented. If Rimadyl is given to 90% of doggy patients and 5 suffer side effects, while an alternative medication is given to 10% of doggy patients and 5 suffer side effects, which one is safer?
Rimadyl has no greater incidence of side effects than any alternatives, but we hear about it more because it is much more widely prescribed.
Max has been taking Rimadyl off and on for his eye problems and has had no problems.
