I waited until they were sitting down and we moved over to the table next to theirs and I just commented really loud "can you believe that lady in the red shirt? Before we left I stopped by their table and told them that they really should be more careful what they say because they never know what it will do to the person who hears. I then told them that my sister had just recently been in a psychiatric hospital for depression, that she is a self mutilator and had attempted suicide and that their words were not building her up, but tearing her down even further. (all that is true- I didn't make it up). They apologized to me and said they didn't know.
I am a speak your mind kind of person, but never at anyone else's expense and if I even think I hurt your feelings, I will come to you and apologize. |
From one outspoken Texan to another "I LIKE YOU!!". Im sure that you had your VERY best Southern Lady smile to go with all of that,,,right!
I do get tired of people being uncivilized just cause they think they can and if you call them on it they suddenly are all apology. I was raised to have polish and manners by my mother and daddy told me that a lady never starts a fight but she can finish it. Good for you for protecting your sister.
