I just had my 1.5 year old go under anesthesia to have a back molar baby tooth removed that was still in. It was causing his adult tooth to accumulate TONS of tarter and plaque build up, as well as it causing crowding and tender gums. His teeth are so much better now that we had the baby tooth pulled. I was hesitant too about putting him under but in the end i'm glad that we made the decision to do it. I would definitely have the baby teeth pulled and cleaned. Make sure that you find a vet that you are comfortable with and are familiar with toy breeds. Also, make sure they do pre-op blood work...this is will help the drs determine what is best for your baby when undergoing anesthesia.
