She isn't on any flea/tick prevention because she isn't outside all that much and I thought that giving her the least amount of chemicals was best, but now I wonder if I made a huge mistake.

I would call the vet today and tell them what happened and see if they want you to bring her in. At the very least you should stop by the office and pick up flea and tick medication and put her on it. We use Frontline Plus, have for many years, and have never pulled a tick and I live in New England where ticks are all over.
