If at anytime her gums turn any color other than the normal pink or if they are sticky-tacky, treat it as an emergency.

Usually you can just call the office and tell them you need a fit-in immediately if no appointments are open. If they won't see her now, then you'll need to call around and see if somebody else will. If nobody will see her, then start looking for emergency vets.
