Check her pupils for equality and reactivity. If one is bigger than the other...vet check for sure, right away. I hope I haven't left anything out... when she urinates, check for any blood. Really best to have your vet check her over. He may have something better than the aspirin for her arthritis too.
Thank you. I told my brother that if she is not walking by my lunch break tomorrow or anything else seems off I am taking her to the vet. I won't let her suffer over the weekend or any longer than 24 hours as long as she's eating, drinking, pink gums, etc... she's alert to what is going on, her eyes are clear, her gums look good, she is not eating her food but she did gobble down a few milk bones so she is eating. Her arthritis is not bad as of yet. She gets around fine, up and down stairs no problem normally, her only harder times are getting up in the morning she's stiff and she stretches and is good to go. I WILL take her to the vet tomorrow or tonight if it appears shes getting worse or not getting better even. I won't let her suffer, I promise that. She is 12 years old and such a sweet dog, I only want the best for her as she goes through her golden years. She won't suffer more than aches and pains of advanced age, I promise. I will give it 24 hours (barring there are no other symptoms) though in case shes just overly sore from her jaunt last night.
Vet does not want to put her on meds for her arthritis yet. Its not bad and she's not in pain 99% of the time. He thinks for her almost 12 years of age, there is no point in possible liver damage, blood work and other stuff for her when shes still completely mobile. Anyone ever hear of flexpet? Its a glucosamine pill for dogs and cats with arthritis. I wonder if that would help her. I'll ask the vet tomorrow.
