And no, I am not saying that this is the average case on death row. By far Troy Davis is the exception, but I feel completely entitled to stand up for what I believe in and what I've spent many hours of my free time working on and researching. So I'm sorry if I've apparently offended someone. |
I think it is great that you do this. It is AWFUL that anyone innocent goes to jail. There is a saying I've heard...it's better for 9 guilty to go free than one innocent to go to jail. That really made me think. As much as I have been (and still am) angry at our justice system (over Casey getting off), it is slanted in favor of the defendants for a reason. Unfortunately, even then sometimes the innocent get convicted. But, that is probably a conversation for another day! LOL!
