Testis can take up to 8 months to drop, but it's normally apparent by 6 months. I'm not sure what you mean by "fixing" him. If you mean in terms of neutering him, it can still be done, the surgery is a bit more invasive. If it's because you are wanting to breed him, the short answer is don't. Cryptochidism is considered a birth defect.
