I am just curious about this.......
For me, as a young, single mother it was expected by many that I "rehome" my DD. My thinking was this: I brought her here & had the intention & purpose to keep her, so I did whatever I had to to make that happen. Thirteen years later I finally felt ready for a dog, so I got Princess. Now my life revolves around her as well. I would NEVER make a voluntary life change that would eliminate her. I left her at my parents for 2 nights once so they could help me potty train her. my mom said she went window to window & door to door at any sound looking for me. I didn't need a reminder, but that showed me what I mean to her, what I OWE to her.
I guess if there was some form of shocking, unplanned tragedy then I could understand. But for CHOOSING something to make my dog an inconvenience, I could NEVER justify that.
