To be honest,unless you´re going to show or breed..it doesnt matter at all They say that the pups with the thick fluffy coats will end up with the cotton coat,and the pups with the thin straight hair will end up with the desired silky coat.In my case,Jess had an awful coarse coat as a puppy,I would say it was even stiff,it took ages to grow,I even lost hope in her having a long coat because her hair was very short and stubby..but now at a year old her coat is wonderful.Its very silky and the comb goes through it like a hot knife through butter..she went through an awful ugly ducking stage before getting the coat she has now though.Ladys hair was thin as a baby and its thin now,its silky too and just as easy to comb,her hair hasnt changed much at all and she is 17 months old.
Iv seen yorkies with curly coats,thick coats,long coats,short coats,slow growing coats,coarse coats,silk coats..etc,to me they are all cute
