Hello - my 11 year old Yorkie has developed a
red rash on her tummy close to her genitals and has been
chewing on her front paws. Never had a problem like this her whole life. Otherwise she's very very healthy. She's been on an organic raw food diet her whole life with no problems. The vet told me he thought it could be food alergies or staph infection so I started cooking her food with organic chicken or beef and veggies. The vet also gave her a shot of antiobiotics and antihistimine - the drugs worked. But it's been 5 weeks on the new food and NOW the rash and scratching are back!!! I've since switched to a no grain organic kibble and that's been 2 weeks and no improvement. We don't have grass so I don't think that it's an allergy. Does anyone have any feedback? She has never had fleas and the vet double checked she has no fleas. I don't want to keep going back to the vet and getting more antiobiotics. Help - I'm desperate -- she's keeping me up at night chewing and her tummy area is so red and raw looking - it looks like red pimples with whiteheads. Thanks!
