We have done egg and sweet potato, meat/poultry with grain and veggie, fish and oatmeal, etc., etc.
Homecooked is by far my favorite thing to feed adult dogs, but I'm not sure I'd ever do it again unless it was medically necessary.
I got burnt out and Ellie just stopped doing well on it. Perhaps it was because she needed a non-animal protein and we hadn't tried that. Kibble (while IMO is not the best thing for a dog) is SO MUCH easier. And for my dog, it is better. I just don't think my dog did well enough on homecooked (even when we first started and she was doing fine) to make it worth it.
If you think it would help her though, you can always consult with a veterinary nutritionist and get a recipe.
Is the I/D not working? Even if she is doing okay, but homecooking is your preference, that is okay. Lots of time, money (more expensive), and freezer space needed. Also, you become quality control. When I'd forget how long a bowl of food had been in the fridge, to the garbage it went. Wasted a TON of mmoney bc I'm not one to keep up with things like that.
