Totally understand this. The first time I went on holiday to Egypt for two weeks last year were horrible, I cried when I left her and I was phoning home all the time to see how she was (you do NOT want to know my phone bill LOL). I went to Cyprus last month for a week and it was a little easier, but still very hard and I still text home about her every day.
