If you trust your vet, then I'd let them guide you on when to get it done.
JMO, spaying very young should be left for shelter med. It is not as healthy and I'd never subject my pet to it. I personally wouldn't consider it before 5 months and likely wouldn't do it before 6 months. I wouldn't have a problem waiting a bit beyond that either. Baby teeth have time to come out and spay incontinence is less of an issue if it's not done at such a young age. For large breeds, my personal belief is that holding off til nearly fully grown isn't a bad idea.
