My vet told me that Labs are actually known for getting these non-cancerous fluid filled cysts, but that all dogs can get them. My 11 year old lab had 4 of them removed several months ago. He had one on his front paw that grew substantially, one in his groin, one on his left side and another on the right front side. It was an easy procedure, the vet put him under and took the cysts out. The paw was the biggest concern because they weren't sure if they would be able to keep the skin closed. He had staples in all 4 areas. They sent the cysts to the lab to ensure they were not cancerous, and he healed fine. Not one issue. I think I was more worried about it all than Balance was. He took it like a champ, and left all the wounds alone except for the groin area. He did nudge the skin open there but they re-stapled and he was good. Good luck to you and your baby.
