We live in Central Florida, but I'm not sure of the difference in bugs and/or animals between our two areas. We watch out for the poisonous frogs, alligators, snakes, hawks, buzzards, racoons, possums, and armadillos. (We did have a bob cat at our other house about five miles away.) Both my girls have been affected by the frogs and Ally was almost taken away by a buzzard when she was a baby. My girls love to chase squirrels and lizards. The squirrels love to share their fleas and ticks, so don't set out a feeder to attract them. The other critters bring them too, but we've found them highly concentrated when people put out feeders for them. There is a lot of water here, whether it is the ocean, lake, or swimming pool. Please watch so Layla doesn't fall in and drown. Our babies tired quickly and may be unsure of how to get out. I have a fenced-in yard with a swimming pool and never leave my girls outside alone. Someone is always outside with them, watching, and playing. We hope you have fun here and if I think of anything else, I write back. There are a lot of Florida residents here, so I'm sure they'll add something too. |
