We came home with a boy and girl from the same litter and then read on line all the advice about what a bad idea it was to raise two puppies at the same time. Well, it was too late by then so we just had to work it out. It was very, very hard work to raise two puppies at the same time. I don't think being from the same litter made any difference with that. Other than the extra work, time and effort involved, everything else was all pros. They play together and are very bonded to each other but also extremely bonded to us. Now that they are just over 2, it's great to have two. If I could do it over, I'm not sure I would get two pups at the same time. Now that all the hard part is done, I love it, but it was hard work to get to this point. I think it really depends on how much time and energy you have to devote to the training and attention that a puppy requires. I would not recommend trying to do it alone. We had to really work as a team or we were outnumbered. I guess it's a bit like having twins as skin kids. |
