I think they did the competency hearing to cover their butts no matter the side that asked for it.
I wouldn't have believed anything if she testified as she's lied about so many things you wouldn't know when she's truthful. I do think she should have testified to make any attempt to seem sympathetic to the jury. I think when the prosecutor hammered the date/enquirer story teller that she became even more frightened of what the prosecution would do to her. I was actually surprised that she didn't @ least try to redeem herself w/so much @ stake. <-----I wrote steak first!
