I've experienced just as you've described with my little girls. The important thing is that you took your baby to the vet, and you know she's not dehydrated. With the medication and letting her stomach settle down, she should be fine. If it's a small amount of blood, it's because there is irritation there. Just do as her doctor says, and Bailey should be better very soon. Usually with my little ones, the doctor had me hold off on food or water for several hours until their stomachs settled down. Once I started them back on food, they had a bland diet for a few days (chicken with rice). At this point, Bailey shouldn't have any problem with dehydration since she was seen by the vet and he would have given her fluids if necessary. You can check for it by seeing if her gums feel tacky or seeing if the skin on the back of her neck bounces back when you pull it. If the vomiting starts again, take her back in, but the medication should help settle everything down for her. I'll be praying for both you and Bailey for her to get well. I understand why you love Bailey so much. |
