I used a onesie instead of the collar. It worked beautifully.

Anesthesia can cause some intestinal disturbances. Small, frequent meals are usually more easily tolerated. I stuck with shredded boiled chicken and rice for the first two days just to make it more easily digestible.

Pain seems to be a bigger problem on day 2 and 3 as the anesthesia wears off. Make sure you have pain meds on hand for her.

How long before she's at home: Depends on the practice of your vet. Some keep them overnight, others let them go home the same day. I took mine home the same day because there wasn't going to be anyone at the vet's office watching them overnight and I felt she was safer at home with me than in a crate there alone.
