I read the description, and really as horrible as it sounds, it's not much different than factory farms in the US - it's just that it's livestock here.

I think it's easier to get upset at the things that happen in China because it doesn't require that we change - just that we educate people. Things very similar happen in the US daily, but what is needed is for people to stop buying these products (meat, dairy, eggs, leather) and instead buy from more humane farms. Doesn't usually happen though.
I agree that there are terrible, horrible things that occur here in the US, but I really don't think it's quite as bad as here. Not that it makes it right.

We don't skin animals alive here. We don't beat animals to death because it'll make them taste better. We have slaughter and transport standards, we have facilities designed to make animals more comfortable even up to the point of their demise. We are certainly not perfect and I think a LOT needs to be done here, too, as I am sure not EVERY facility follows these rules. But I think, in general, we are a *bit* more humane than this video.

But... just dreadful. I cannot get the image out of my mind of that dog, completely alive, having his skin ripped off him as if they were simply tearing off a band-aid. His eyes still open, skinless, still can see his throat breathing. Watching live dogs being thrown in an incinerator. Bags full of dogs, as if they were stuffed animals.
