The very best way to learn from anything is to deal with the consequences ourselves. Lying and covering for things our loved onces do doesn't really help them - it just perpetuates bad behavior and the wrong doer is once again bolstered in the bad behavior and learns there will always be someone to get them out of it. Well, almost always. Sometimes the enabled person does something so horrific even the best "covering" isn't sufficient. But after a lifetime of being covered, will Casey Anthony learn from this and understand finally that loved ones cannot always get one out of one's messes and start to grow up? Probably not - she will probably just be angry with her mother for not being skilled enough to help her this time and her mother's apparent lying will all be for naught.
