There was a big ruckus at our local Walmart last summer when a woman (A) smashed the window out of another woman's (B) car, because she saw a dog panting away in the back of the vehicle on a hot sunny day. The cops were called because the two women were fighting in the parking lot.
It turned out woman B had set her AC to on before she got out of her car & locked the doors. Then she used her remote start to restart the locked car with the air running for her dog, before entering the store. Woman A didn't realize the car was running, saw the panting dog and smashed out the car window. Woman B said her dog was extremely anxious and would pant just because she was gone & the dog was alone. Police wrote a ticket for malicious destruction of personal property to woman A. Case settled when woman A paid for repairs to woman B's vehicle, along with car rental during the repair time.
