Does he growl when you approach him? Or is this just when he's doing thing with the bone or toy??
If it's the latter then I don't think it's aggression, but I would watch for it. Different dogs make different sounds when playing. My old Cairn, Cammie, would play with her cow like it was a rabid and she needed to kill it. She would literally try to tear the thing apart and make these noises that sounded like a car engine starting. However, she was not agressive. We called it "cow aggression" but that's because whenever we played ith it those were the sounds she made.
Anywho, it doesn't sound like Mr. DJ is agressive. Just sounds like he's "killing" his "prey". But just watch out to make sure he's not turning it into agression.
