If the ER vet thought there was a reason for you to be terrified, they wouldn't have sent him home.
Could be pancreatitis, but it also could be a little tummy upset or something. Just take him back if he starts going down hill. Since they gave SQ fluids and antibiotics, he will likely be fine.
