Since you are currently on medication to treat the problem, I might wait until you finish this treatment until you see an opthamologist. Then, if it works there is not need to see one and if it doesn't you can tell them what has been tried and didn't work. We had tried a few medications that failed before being referred to UT and this was helpful in better diagnosing a treatment for her.

As for the boogies going away, Maddie did this for about 2-3 years. I have pictures of her just last year where her eye was clear as a bell then, suddenly, mucus would return and I was back to cleaning it and lubricating it countless time a day.

I hope this ointment works for Teddy and you don't need to see a specialist but I would definitely seek and Optho if this does not work. Has Teddy had the Schimer test done? What were his ratings?
