Sounds like we doing things kinda alike.
With my little crew, I have to buy the bigger bags of food too LOL. I've been keeping mine in this green plastic container that just cracked, and I keep the container in a spare bedroom. Then I scoop a few days worth into a smaller container as needed. What type of basket are you using in the house? I keep changing what I use for that - can't find anything that works just right.
